I had a deeply frustrating experience with Robert at Polaris Group in Miami and cannot recommend his services. At first, he was friendly and engaging, even discussing politics to build rapport. But as soon as we committed to working with him, his responsiveness dropped significantly. Instead of walking us through the application process, we had to figure everything out on our own. When I called for help, I was often met with a text saying, "Email me," as he was either at the gym or with his newborn. While personal matters are understandable, a mortgage broker should be available and communicative, especially during such an important financial process. His operation appears to be understaffed despite giving the impression of a larger company. This led to constant delays, miscommunications, and unnecessary frustration on our end. When I was approved, he advised me not to pay off the loan early because it would affect his commission. While I understand brokers have their own interests, it was uncomfortable to be pressured about a financial decision that should have been mine alone. I even mentioned that I would compensate him if I paid it off early, yet the conversation still felt unprofessional. Throughout the process, Robert also spoke negatively about our real estate agent, agreeing that the agent was aggressive and disrespectful. However, he later went behind our backs and communicated negatively about us to the same agent. This lack of consistency and professionalism was extremely disappointing. Ultimately, this was a stressful, time-consuming, and frustrating experience. If you’re looking for a mortgage broker who is responsive, organized, and ethical, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
