Capital One continues to make changes to its lineup of credit cards while growing its list of perks and benefits available to cardholders. From relaunching its travel portal to adding a new travel credit card, and now, adding dining and entertainment perks, the issue continues on its quest to provide more value.

On the heels of the recent Capital One dining launch, comes Capital One Entertainment, a new ticketing platform for eligible Capital One rewards cardholders.  Powered by Vivid Seats, this new “digital-first” platform allows cardholders to redeem their rewards for tickets to more than 500,000 events. The platform unlocks access to experiences for sports, dining, music and more.

What is Capital One Entertainment?

In essence, Capital One Entertainment allows eligible cardholders to reserve tickets with their rewards. It’s fully digital with no need to place a call or make a visit to any ticketing counter. The platform rolls out to cardholders on Thursday, March 24th, and already has offerings for exclusive events such as:

  • NCAA Men’s Final Four Weekend in New Orleans
  • iHeartCountry Festival in Austin, TX
  • iHeartRadio Music Festival
  • Capital One Orange Bowl
  • College Football National Championship
  • James Beard Foundation events
  • MICHELIN Guide culinary events and more.

These experiences are available for redemption only, by all Capital One eligible branded rewards cardholders, including the Venture, Savor, Quicksilver, Spark and Journey cards lineup of Capital One cards. Savor and SavorOne cardholders will also earn 8 percent cash back on Capital One Entertainment purchases.

What is Capital One Dining?

Capital One Dining is for foodies who want access to top-tier dining venues, along with exclusive access to events and unique experiences. Capital One Dining, launched in early March and gives cardholders access to the platform via the Capital One mobile app or online at www.CapitalOne.com/dining.

The Capital One Dining interface is powered by SevenRooms, a customer experience platform for hospitality businesses. The dining platform aims to make it easy for culinary fans to discover restaurants, book reservations and communicate dietary preferences back to their restaurants of choice. You can even book hard-to-get dining reservations with top industry partners like the MICHELIN Guide, James Beard Foundation or Chef José Andrés.

What else is new for Capital One cardholders?

These updates comes amid a flurry of changes the issuer has made surrounding its credit card offerings. In the fall of 2021, Capital One relaunched the Capital One Travel portal after cementing a partnership with the travel search engine, Hopper.

The credit card company also announced plans to add more Capital One Lounges to U.S. airports, which are accessible to visitors with eligible Capital One credit cards. So far, the lounge at Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport is open and offers amenities like free Wi-Fi, grab-and-go food options, relaxation rooms and more.

Finally, the issuer recently debuted a real contender in the travel credit card space: the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card, which features a generous welcome offer, travel-friendly rewards structure, credits and many of the amenities you’d expect from higher-end travel credit cards.

With all these improvements, enhanced features, and card holder benefits, it feels like Capital One is creating a card ecosystem that can truly compete on the level of issuers like American Express and Chase. Of course, the Venture X Rewards card still has a ways to go to reach the same status as The Platinum Card® from American Express or the Chase Sapphire Reserve. However, it’s not far behind, and the additional Capital One Dining is another step in this direction.
