In her 17+ years as a writer, Erin has written for pretty much every market, but her primary areas of focus are personal finance, law, and public policy. Her superpower is translating jargon and using storytelling to help explain complex subjects in ways that are entertaining and easy to understand. She credits her “patchwork quilted background” for these skills.

Erin began her financial education as a teenager in her high school driver’s ed (yes, seriously) and personal finance classes. Those classes helped her build a strong foundation in insurance, saving, budgeting, investing (in both real estate and the stock market), and taxes. In college she double majored in Theater Arts (focusing on tech theater and stage management) and English Lit. In 2007, after spending time in the retail and radio day-job mines, she decided to go into business for herself and became a full-time freelance “jack of most trades” writer.

When she isn’t creating content, Erin watches a “likely unhealthy” amount of television, reading, and trying to befriend her neighborhood’s owls.
